Subject: Message from Samantha Goldin - Sister of Brett Goldin.
My name is Samantha Goldin and I have a story to tell.
It is not as well written as a story that my late brother, Brett Goldin the actor and writer could have composed, but it’s the best I could do. It’s a story of tragedy, a story of murder, a story of despair. It’s a story about how crime does not see race, religion or status. It tells of how crime in South Africa is relentless and non-discriminatory. My story is about the guilt and remorse I feel because I did not take a proactive stance against crime.
Placing my story on this site gave me an opportunity to tell the world about someone who was always a loving brother and son, a loyal friend and a superbly talented and sensitive man.
By logging on to http://www.victimsofcrime.org.za, you can post your story too.
This website gives you the chance to tell your story and to encourage you, no matter who you are or who you support politically to share your experiences about how crime, any crime - theft, rape, assault, hijacking or murder - has touched you or those you love.
Our collective voice will bring the experiences of ordinary South Africans to the government’s attention and, by doing so, put pressure on the state to come up with effective and meaningful solutions to South Africa’s crime problem.
Complacency condones crime. Please, share your story and make your voice heard.
Please send this to everyone you know who may have been affected by crime in South Africa.
Thank-you,
Samantha Goldin.
